PPP

As Creswell and Creswell (2023, pp. 28) explain in Chapter 2—citing Cooper (2010) and Marshall & Rossman (2022)—a literature review brings context to the research by identifying questions that have not been answered through the literature. Please refer to the webpage

to help you understand how to write literature reviews.

Assignment Instructions

At work, you have been asked to present a literature review to the command staff of the local precincts and bureaus. Complete your assignment in Zoom or PowerPoint, with a voice recording of your presentation for each slide. To begin,

· Recall the “seven steps” in writing a literature review outlined by Creswell and Creswell (2023) in Chapter 2.

· Use these “seven steps” as guidance to present a literature review of five scholarly articles with research in community policing to the department leadership.

Note the following points about your literature review:

· A total of
six slides are required.

· The first
five slides should discuss the five articles.

· The
sixth slide should be dedicated to constructing a research question related to at least one study.

· You may use the following PowerPoint or Zoom resources to create your slides:

Assessment Criteria

In your presentation, for each of the five articles that you choose, address the following:

· Identify the theory(ies), questions, methods, and data used in each study.

· Assess the kind(s) of information that the data sources in each study offer.

· Examine how the findings in each study that you select contribute to the literature.

· Explain inferences and the methods and statistical techniques used to address research questions in each study.

· Recall Creswell and Creswell’s (2023, pp. 117, 165) discussion of inferences.

· Analyze an ethics issue in research design and a social justice issue in data for community policing.

· Construct a research question related to, but not addressed by, at least one study.

·
Note: This sixth and final point may be addressed on the
sixth slide.
