General Instructions:
• This is a group project. Individual submissions will not be accepted. Each group must consist of at least 3
students and no more than 5 students.
• Each group must appoint a Group Leader who will:
o Submit the project files on Blackboard.
o Coordinate the distribution of tasks among members.
o Monitor the project timeline and ensure deadlines are met.
• Each group is free to choose the title and type of the information system (e.g., library system, clinic
appointments, maintenance requests, e-commerce platform, etc.).
• The project must cover the first three phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Planning,
Analysis, and Design.
• Submission format: two files (Word and PDF), uploaded to Blackboard. Compressed files will not be
accepted.
• Submission deadline: Thursday, December 4th, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Submission via email is not allowed.
• SafeAssign rules apply strictly. Any plagiarism, duplication, or manipulation will result in zero marks.
• All diagrams must be created using professional drawing tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io, MS Visio). Handdrawn diagrams are not accepted.
• Use Times New Roman font, size 12 for the text body and size 14 bold for headings.

Project Purpose and Student Guidelines
The purpose of this project is to give you hands-on experience with the early phases of
the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). By working in groups, you will learn how
to:
•
Identify system needs and document them in a structured way.
•
Apply analysis techniques to define requirements and model system processes.
•
Use design methods to create logical models and diagrams for a real-world
system.
This project is not only about writing reports, but also about practicing teamwork, critical
thinking, and problem-solving. You will need to:
•
Communicate with your group members, share responsibilities, and respect
deadlines.
•
Make sure your work is well-organized and clearly presented.
•
Focus on quality diagrams and clear explanations, since they carry significant
weight in your grade.
Required rubrics:
System Service Request (SSR) 1.5
Project Scope Statement (PSS) 1
Baseline Project Plan (BPP) 1
Gantt Chart 1.5
Requirements (Functional & Non-functional) 2
Use Case Diagram 1
Data Flow Diagram (DFD) 2
General – عام
Pg. 02
Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) 2
Normalization 1
Interface Mockups 1
Presentation & Documentation -1
Tips for success:
✓ Start early and divide the work equally among group members.
✓ Use drawing tools for diagrams (do not hand-draw).
✓ Review the rubric carefully; it tells you exactly how marks are allocated.
✓ Think of a system idea that is simple, realistic, and relevant to your daily life
(e.g., library system, clinic appointments, maintenance requests).
✓ Always double-check formatting, spelling, and references before submission.
