Please answer one questions below.  You must have 2 posts throughout Weeks 6 and 7.  Post must be made by Thursday 11:59pm.  No need to respond to other classmates.   All responses if using material from the course must be properly cited using APA style.  

  1. List and briefly discuss several of the different functions of the skin.
  2. Discuss a skin infection that you encountered in your clinical site and how your past knowledge in A & P helped you protect yourself and other patients.
  3. List and define several terms from the integumentary system that you believe will best help you in school and in your profession as a Radiologic Technologist.
  4. Name the major structures and functions of the skeletal system.
  5. Name and describe two major disorders of bones and joints.
  6. Discuss two major disorders of bones and joints that you saw as a student in your clinical site that most interested you.
  7. In general, what bones are included in the axial skeleton?  The appendicular skeleton?
  8. Describe open, closed, and comminuted fractures.
  9. Explain how “palpable bony landmarks” are used in the field of Radiography and how this course will help you identify these landmarks easier?
  10. Name the three types of muscle tissue.
  11. Define two terms related to muscle names and functions and describe how this knowledge will help you in the field of Radiography?
  12. Describe the different types of muscle movement
  13. Define 5 disorders related to the muscular system that you feel will best help you in treating your patient. For example, if a patient has atrophy, I would use less mAs as the patient has less body tissue.  My knowledge of this disorder benefited the patient by administering less radiation to the patient.
  14. Name the structures that make up the eyes and ears.
  15. Discuss the three most common pathologies of the eyes and ears that you witnessed.
  16. Discuss how the knowledge that you gain from this chapter on the special senses of Sign and Hearing will help you as a future Radiologic technologist.
