Present information in a professional manner, including an introduction, summary, personal insights, and interview transcript. Explore current trends and future directions in the staffing and HR industry. Assignment Instructions Form a Team: You may work individually or in teams of no more than three people. If you choose to work in a team, ensure that each member contributes equally to the development of interview questions, conducting the interview, and writing the report. All team members are responsible for making sure everyone contributes equally to the assignment. Identify an Interviewee: Select a professional currently working in the HR staffing field. This could be someone from your network, a professional you find through LinkedIn, or a guest speaker from a previous class. Develop Interview Questions: As a team, create a list of questions to ask during your interview. Your questions should focus on: Staffing challenges they face in their role. Best practices they employ to overcome these challenges. Insights into current trends and future directions in the staffing industry. Conduct the Interview: Schedule and conduct the interview, ensuring you take detailed notes and record the conversation (with the interviewee’s permission). Write the Report: Prepare a 2-3 page report summarizing your findings from the interview. Your report should include the following sections: Introduction: Briefly introduce the interviewee, their role/title, organization, and the context of the interview. Interview Summary: Summarize the key points discussed during the interview, focusing on staffing challenges, best practices, and industry insights. Personal Insights: Reflect on what you learned from the interview. Discuss how the information has influenced your understanding of staffing and HR. Transcript: Include a transcript of the interview as an appendix to your report, a link of the interview recording, and the interviewee contact information. Detailed Requirements Interview Questions: Prepare at least 10 questions covering the following areas: Staffing Challenges: What are the most significant staffing challenges you currently face? How do you address high turnover rates? What strategies do you use to attract top talent? Best Practices: Can you share some best practices that have been effective in your role? How do you ensure a positive candidate experience? What methods do you use to assess candidates fit for the company culture? Industry Insights: What trends are you noticing in the staffing industry? How is technology impacting staffing processes? What do you see as the future of staffing and HR? Interview Summary: Summarize the key points from your interview in 1-2 pages. Highlight the most important staffing challenges and the best practices shared by the interviewee. Include any notable industry insights that were discussed. Personal Insights: Reflect on the interview and discuss how it has deepened your understanding of staffing and HR. Describe any new perspectives or strategies you plan to adopt based on what you learned. Explain how this information will influence your future career in staffing or HR. Deliverable: Submit a 2-3 page report including: Introduction: Briefly introduce the interviewee and the context of the interview. Interview Summary: Summarize the key points discussed. Personal Insights: Reflect on your learnings. Transcript: Include the transcript and link of your interview recording as an appendix. Grading Criteria Interview Questions (75 points): Relevance and comprehensiveness of the questions. Coverage of staffing challenges, best practices, and industry insights. Interview Summary (125 points): Clarity and depth of the summary. Accurate representation of the key points discussed. Personal Insights (150 points): Thoughtfulness and depth of reflection. Application of insights to personal understanding and future career plans. Overall Presentation (50 points): Organization, coherence, and professionalism of the report. Proper formatting (paragraph format – no bullets) and inclusion of the interview transcript. Extra Credit (15 points): Evidence of a visit to the UNT Dallas writing center. AI tools may assist in organizing and structuring the interview questions. Transcription: AI transcription services may be used to transcribe the interview recording. However, students must review and edit the transcription for accuracy and completeness. Grammar and Spell Check: AI tools may be used to check grammar, spelling, and clarity in the final report. Prohibited Uses of AI: Content Generation: AI must not be used to generate the interview questions or answers. Questions must be original and developed by the students. The interview summary and personal insights must be written by the students and reflect their understanding and analysis. Plagiarism and Fabrication: AI tools must not be used to create false or fabricated interview content. All interviews must be conducted with real professionals, and the transcript must accurately reflect the conversation. Reflection and Personal Insights: AI tools must not be used to generate reflective content or personal insights. These sections must be based on the student’s genuine reflections and learning experiences. Responsibility and Academic Integrity: Individual Responsibility: Each student or team member is responsible for ensuring their work adheres to this policy. Team Responsibility: If working in a team, all members must ensure that AI is used appropriately and that contributions are equitable and original. Transparency: Any use of AI tools must be clearly documented in the report’s appendix, including the purpose and extent of use. Any portions where AI was used must be highlighted in the report. Consequences of Policy Violation: Academic Penalties: Violations of this policy will be treated as academic misconduct and may result in penalties, including but not limited to, a failing grade for the assignment, academic probation, or other disciplinary actions as per university guidelines.
