2.4 Assignment. Personal Reflections on Gratitude
Getting Started
Is gratitude more than platitudes? How can it be for you? According to positive psychology researchers, gratitude is related to well-being. But what does it mean to be grateful or to feel gratitude for something? How do you define it and how do you integrate it into your daily life so that it contributes to your well-being? You will explore these questions and more in this assignment.
Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:
· Demonstrate how you can utilize gratitude for spiritual and personal development.
Background Information
For this assignment, review the ebook
The Gratitude Factor to identify relevant chapters or passages that help you better understand and integrate the concept of gratitude in your life. At a minimum, read Chapters 1 and 2. Scrutinize your ideas of gratitude and compare them to the book. Why, when, and how might you integrate gratitude? Does it apply merely when you are focused on something really great that occurred (or really bad: “Well, it could have been worse!”)? Then, you will write about how you better understand gratitude, as well as how you plan to utilize it for your own spiritual and personal development. If relevant, you may also write about how gratitude is related to your capstone project. Ensure for this assignment that you use scholarly support to avoid being “Pollyanna-ish” about gratitude.
