Objective: The objective of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to examine your current practice setting or your desired future practice setting through the lens of healthcare improvement processes. You will outline a healthcare improvement process aimed at addressing a specific issue or area for enhancement within a selected practice environment.
For this assignment you can consider your current role or the
role that you desire to obtain in your future nursing practice: advanced nursing specialty (informatics, administration/practice leadership, public health/population health, or health policy),
OR an advanced nursing practice role (nurse practitioner, certified nurse-midwife, certified clinical nurse specialist, certified registered nurse anesthetist),
OR a nurse educator.
Instructions:

Create a presentation that includes the following elements:

Slide 1: Title Slide –Formatted consistent with 7th edition APA guidelines
·
Slide 2: Current Practice or Future Practice – Provide an overview of your current professional nursing role
AND the role you hope to obtain after completing your current nursing program

Slide 3:
Description of Selected Practice Setting – For developing this improvement process you will select your current practice setting
OR a practice setting that you see yourself in once you complete your current nursing program and describe that setting (e.g., hospital unit, outpatient clinic, community health center).

Slide 4: Defined Practice Issue – Clearly define a specific issue or area within the selected practice setting (slide 3) that could benefit from improvement. This could be related to patient care outcomes, operational efficiency, patient safety, procedures, policies, continuous improvement needs, or another relevant area.

Slides 5, 6, 7: Discussion of the Intervention(s) – Conduct a search of the literature to locate and examine evidence-based practices that could be implemented to address the defined practice issue. A minimum of 3 scholarly resources are required to be included – discuss one per slide.

Slides 8, 9, 10, 11: Healthcare Improvement Process Overview – Outline the steps involved in your improvement process. Include:
· Goal of the improvement process.
· Stakeholders involved and their roles.
· Implementation plan, including timeline and resources required.
· Method for evaluating the effectiveness of the improvement process.

Slide 12:
Discuss the Improvement Impact – Provide a discussion of your thoughts about how the improvement process you have designed is going to impact the selected practice setting.
