You will begin this assignment in this week’s Paper Topic Feedback discussion. After reviewing feedback from your instructor and classmates, reflect on which of the three proposed topics you will use for your final paper, Review of Theoretical Interventions. This section will become your final paper’s introduction, providing an epidemiological overview of the public health issue (e.g., type 2 diabetes) and the underlying health behaviors (e.g., poor nutrition, lack of exercise) for a chosen population (e.g., African American women living in the United States).

In your topic justification,

  • Summarize your initial discussion post justification paragraph for the selected topic, which included:
    • the most affected populations,
    • what you think are the most significant underlying behavioral and social causes of this disparity,
    • how you can use theory to understand the determinants and address them, and
    • how you think you can ameliorate the disparity.
  • Explain how your instructor or peers’ feedback changed or did not change your answers to these questions, along with your reasoning for why this topic is important.
  • Expand the justification of the health disparity topic you have selected, presenting statistics to support your assertions.
