PART 1- Module 3 – DISCUSSION 3

State which of the 3 scientific theories that explain reality you most widely accept. Is it the Big Bang Theory, The Theory of Evolution, or the Theory of Intelligent Design? If you do not accept either and instead ascribe to one found in a specific religion / spiritual tradition, please state that. Then provide a 250-word explanation of your position on it. In other words, state a philosophical argument that supports your position. 

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:

  • The essay is to be clear and concise, and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, misspellings, and incorrect APA format.
  • Your essay should be a minimum of 250 words in length, using 2 ACADEMIC SOURCES, APA FORMAT, excluding the title and references page.

PART 2- Module 3 – ASSIGNMENT 3Religion in the Middle Ages & St. Thomas Aquinas’s Approach to Reality

Part I: Record a 5-minute POWERPOINT that compares religion today versus religion during the Middle Ages. Focus on religion in America and view it from a general perspective. Within the presentation state whether any ideas in society today resemble the ideas of the philosophers during the Middle Ages.

Part II: Record a 5-minute POWERPOINT in which you state whether there are any scientific theories in place today that resemble Aquinas’ theory. Some theories to consider are the Big Bang Theory, Intelligent Design, and Evolution. Record a 5-minute video that highlights your findings.

Part III: Then, compose a 500-word reflection on what you anticipate will change in this area in the near future.

Note: You may combine Parts I and II into one recording. Be sure to submit your written reflection in addition to the video(s).

Submission Instructions:

·       Your video(s) are to be clear and concise and you will lose points for unclear speech.

·       Each video response is to be 5 minutes in length.

·       The written response is to be clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation and misspelling.

·       The written response should be formatted per current APA and 500 words in length, excluding the references page. Incorporate a minimum of 2 current (published within last five years) scholarly journal articles within your work.
