Study the Southwest Airlines case and Southwest’s organizational purpose and mission video located in Module 1: Lecture Materials & Resources.
This case discusses employee relations at Southwest Airlines, one part of a very successful organization. Senior managers have hired you, an Industrial/Organizational consultant, to help them determine what next steps they should do to continue the organizational success. You have been asked to design and conduct a research study.
Using the Steps in the Research Process, presented in the Riggio textbook as a guide, design an appropriate research-based study of Southwest based on the information provided. You are to include the following in your response:
- Literature Preview: Provide a brief overview of Southwest’s presenting issues (approximately one paragraph)
- Clearly identify and label your single Independent variable and single Dependent variable or two Correlational Variables. Do not identify more than one Independent variable and Dependent variable and no more than two Correlational Variables for the purposes of the research study you will design.
- Research question: Clearly state your study’s research question (include the identified Independent variable and single Dependent variable or two Correlational Variables in your research question.
- Anticipated findings: Based on the study you designed, what outcomes/findings do you think you will find (think in terms of your proposed hypothesis, IV and DV)?
