As you have considered various theories in the previous work, now you move to
considering leadership theories in relation to strategic organizational structure and
stakeholder engagement. Not all leadership theories apply to every situation and not all
theories would be natural for your personal style. You will be selecting a minimum of five
(5) leadership theories and outlining the strengths and weaknesses of each model in
addition to other informational components.
Use this formative activity to consider personal strengths, your organization’s current
needs, and where your organization may need to grow in order to meet the future needs
of your students and community. In your learning journal, document your personal
strengths in the area of leadership and areas in which you might wish to expand your
knowledge and skills. You may wish to connect these strengths and weaknesses to a
specific leadership structure or theory for future use.
Using any of the information presented above, OR any resources you have identified,
including discussions with leaders you have experienced, begin to develop ideas for this
project.
From these data sets:
1. Compile a list of major theories you have studied (list at least five (5).
2. Identify which ones you feel might be most effective in your current setting
3. Evaluate which ones match your current professional style This information can be
presented in narrative, chart, or presentation (your choice) and should be briefly
documented for use in future projects.
