This assignment is on White collar crimes. THERE IS TWO PARTS TO THIS ASSIGNMENT. ONE IS THE 15-25 PAGE PAPER ON WHITE COLLAR CRIME AND THE OTHER PART IS A POWEREPOINT WITH SPARK NOTES ON WHITE COLLAR CRIMES. This is the instructions BELOW. I UPLOADED SAMPLE PAPERS AND MY PROPOSAL PAPER SO YOU CAN BE GUIDED THROUGH THAT

 Project Requirements

Requirement

1. Topic which is WHITE COLLAR CRIMES

Policy-oriented where applicable

Based on relevant scholarly/academic and governmental/professional evidence (Research Project-Technical Report)

2. Accuracy and Substance

Incorporate material learned throughout your major program of study

Appropriate use of major program terminology and methods

3. Problem/Purpose

Articulated clearly

Developed logically

Example:

4. Length

15–25 pages of double-spaced text, approximately 5,000 – 8,000 words (word count begins on the first body page and concludes with the conclusion); (you must utilize the properly formatted APA template)

automatic reduction of 5 points for not using the proper template provided

5. Resources

At least 12-15 credible, relevant resources (government, professional/industry, scholarly/academic/peer-reviewed)

Exhibit critical thinking in selecting appropriate resources for the point you are making

Your resources must be academic/scholarly/professional and may not include such citations as Wikipedia, dictionaries, newspapers, television/radio news reports etc. The only exception for a dictionary is Black’s Law Dictionary.

6. Format

APA style, 7th edition; do not solely rely on other resources (e.g., Owl at Purdue, Microsoft Office) for APA style, as these resources at times are incorrect.

Do not use auto-generated in-text citations and reference on your References page.

Use the properly formatted APA template in our online classroom only as noted above.

You may look to the University Library’s APA Library Guide for additional support.

7. Sections and Section Headings

Organize your paper into at least three sections, the first one being an introduction and last one being the conclusion

Use APA-style headings throughout to introduce and break up sections

Do not use uninformative section titles, such as “Body”

The introduction should contain your problem and purpose statement and a “roadmap” of the rest of (the text of) your paper; see sample papers in our online classroom for additional general guidance.

The discussion should summarize your paper’s main findings and somehow elaborate or extend them

8. Ethics

All parts of the Senior Project should be your original work; carefully watch any plagiarism and/or self-plagiarism issues

Do all typing on your own; do not use Word’s auto-Reference function, as it creates problems when editing and commenting on files in addition to being inaccurate at times

9. Professionalism

The entire Senior Project should be written in a formal, scholarly/professional tone

Replace contractions with the full words

Omit all personal words, expressions, opinions, and experiences; this is not a persuasive essay

Avoid clichés, jargon, euphemisms, slang and other informal/casual sayings

Remain objective and scientific/scholarly; refrain from any personal attacks and/or unsubstantiated criticisms; let the literature speak for you

10. Writing Quality

There should be no blatant typos, such as obvious misspellings flagged by Word with a red squiggly line, etc. Use a reliable second reader (ThinkingStorm, the Writing Center/Learning Commons if you are here on campus during the normal school year, etc.) or virtual sessions. You must have your project draft and final submission reviewed through Grammarly before submission. You will receive an invite to activate your Grammarly account to do the same.

Consistent and proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar

Clear and concise writing; omit superfluous, irrelevant, or redundant material

Be direct; avoid equivocating unless the evidence indicates that your point needs qualification

Write in your own words, using resources to substantiate your statements and support your argument—do not use your words only to string together vaguely relevant pieces of evidence

In the criminal justice field, some segments of your audience will want a full written report in a format they are familiar with; other audience members—especially your bosses—will not have time for full reports and instead will need a brief and to-the-point presentation.  This involves condensing a lot of material into precise, accurate, concise, and professional PowerPoint slides.

The presentation will be a “brief” of your project using the 7/10 rule; consisting of generally 7-10 content (not including title, References, or contact slides) slides, presented in approximately 7-10 minutes.

Presentation requirements include (see good general samples in our online classroom):

Mostly content slides (content slides contain substantive information and do not include the title slide, the overview slide, or section/transition slides); see the samples provided in our online classroom for examples of solid A graded presentation styles

Use a title slide, an overview slide, and section/transition slides (these slides do not count toward the required number of content slides)

The section/transition slides in your presentation should correspond to the major sections of your paper

The overview slide should list the major sections of your presentation (which are the major sections of your paper)
