NO Plagiarizing
Collaborative teams often encounter ethically challenging situations. This assignment asks you to
respond to a fictional but realistic scenario and explain how you would resolve it in a way that
preserves trust and promotes equity.
Scenario:
You are in a student support meeting. A general education teacher expresses frustration that a
student with a disability is not trying hard enough and suggests moving the student to a
self-contained room, despite no behavioral data or current discussion of LRE changes.
The parent, who is present, becomes visibly upset but stays quiet. The administrator seems
unsure how to proceed and looks to you.
Address these prompts:
● What would you say or do in that moment to support the student and family?
● How can you redirect the conversation while maintaining professionalism?
● What ethical values guide your decision?
