Using the country you have chosen to study for this class (YEMEN), write a paper of approximately 2-3 double-spaced pages of text, not including a separate reference list, that discusses the following:
- First, explain the definition of “developing” and why your chosen state fits these criteria. Has conflict played a role in its developmental history?
- How would you describe the development strategy of the country you have chosen for this class? Be sure to discuss the country’s relationship with international organizations (World Bank Group, United Nations Development Programme, Doctors Without Borders, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, etc), other countries, and domestic policies that promote social and cultural development.
- Discuss how at least two of the theories (modernization theory, dependency theory, neoliberal/democratization theory, globalization theory) we discussed in Week 2 can explain the developmental process of your state.
The paper should contain the following:
