Q.1 PART B: The organization and you

If you could choose, what would you prefer: Working through the career ladder in the organizational hierarchy, or working on different projects for different organizations as a contractor, where you would need to learn and improve on skills to remain marketable?  Why would this be the better option for you?

In your discussion of PART B, please include at least one of the ideas which are given in the following sections:

For changes in the meaning of work, please read the textbook: (p.21 – 27) Reference in APA

Q. 2 Write a Reply for a friend

Part A: Who Am I?

My name is Tim Reyna. I live in Dallas, Texas, with my spouse of 27 years and our two beloved, though very spoiled, Shih Tzus—Bella Grace, who is three, and Polly Ann, who is 16.

Recently, I’ve taken on the role of a National Talent Acquisition Specialist at NorthStar Memorial Group, a position that involves recruiting sales professionals on a national scale.

I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resource Management. With over 20 years of experience in HR, choosing this major felt like a natural progression in my career development.

Part B: The Organization and Me:

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in both full-time and contract positions. While the latter offers diversity, I find greater fulfillment in the stability and growth potential of full-time roles.

I understand the concept of the New Social Contract, and throughout my career, I have practiced it, so I know the benefits. However, I have reached a point in my career where my knowledge and experience are more valuable to an organization. I want to work my last 15-20 years with one company. The key is finding those organizations that understand and appreciate your value and want you to retire from work with their company. You can see this when you interview and ask questions about the average tenure of their team, the age of the people you are meeting about the job, and the average age of their staff overall.
