Overview
The activities and assignments in this course build on one another and use the same scenario, in which you are a curriculum designer for a K-12 school district. The scenario is detailed in Week 1’s Assignment Preparation. Please refer to that as needed.
In this assignment, you will present your curriculum (Mental Health) design to stakeholders to ensure their acceptance. You will demonstrate your professional competence by applying your research, analysis, and insight as you would in a real-world professional setting. You will use your communication, problem-solving, and technology skills to benefit your school and district.
Preparation
In this part of the course scenario, you are making a PowerPoint presentation for delivery to a committee that includes the school principal, the vice principal, the district superintendent, and a select group of teachers. You will include all the sections you wrote about in your Week 6 assignment. But because PowerPoint is a-7 graphics, such as tables, charts, or other elements that illustrate the points you’re making.
Also, include speaker notes and SWS-formatted citations for any supporting resources you use in the presentation.
If you need support in developing your PowerPoint, review the Strayer Library’s
Microsoft 365 TrainingLinks to an external site. page.
Requirements
Your PowerPoint presentation should be 12-15 slides that include the following:
1. Create an Introduction in which you tell your audience who you are and summarize what you are presenting.
2. Present the descriptions, explanations, and analysis from your Problem-Centered Curriculum Design.
· Use your Week 6 assignment work with feedback and revisions incorporated.
3. Present a summary of your research on state standards.
4. Present a summary of your training and implementation plans.
5. Create a conclusion summarizing how your curriculum design will solve a problem for the school, students, and teachers.
6. Create a reference list of the primary sources you used to research and write your curriculum design project.
7. Create speaker notes that include additional information and points to accompany your presentation.
This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and formatting. Please refer to the
