- Using what you have read about NPSGs, base your paper on one of the following:
- A clinical incident that occurred during Preceptorship
- An incident that varied from the guidelines
- A situation where you internally questioned if the guidelines were being implemented correctly.

I am at the infusion center at a local hospital. I am choosing to discuss the importance of making sure to identify patients using the proper two patient identifiers as one patient came in and was almost treated with the wrong treatment, she was here for a port flush and another lady was scheduled around the same time for a port flush and antibiotic with the same name. They almost gave the wrong lady the antibiotics had them drawn up and everything to verify date of birth at bedside to realize it was two different people causing this to be a near miss episode.
