MKTG 231 Principles of Marketing – Semester Project (ZEN PowerPoint Presentation)

Assignment description as published in the course syllabus:

B. Semester Project. (100 points). Semester Project due: December 16, 2024 11:59 pm. 

Students enrolled in MKTG 231 Principles of Marketing this fall 2024 session semester will be required to work individually to conduct research to create a ten, (10) slide PowerPoint Presentation explaining/illustrating any one major marketing concept or theory. Students must link the concept or theory to a specific print or TV or online commercial. 

For example, General Mills, the manufacturer of America’s favorite cold cereal Cheerios, offers consumers to create custom-printed cereal boxes. Consumers can customize cereal boxes with any name for $20 and boxes feature names of loved ones, encouraging heart-health awareness.

In this example, one might investigate the concept of personalization. Personalization is a key idea repeated throughout the course. What is it and why is it an effective promotional tool? Personalization in this example would be the theme of your ZEN PPT. 

This is just one example. As we move through the course, note a concept or theory you find interesting and use as the theme of your project.

· Students must view and study Garr Reynold’s Presentation Zen tutorial. Your PPT must adhere to the principles of ZEN. Your PPT must be narrated. Visit:

· Your presentation must include ten, (10) slides are required with the cover page and reference page required. Slide #1 is the standard course cover page and slide #10 is the APA formatted reference page.

 

· Include at least five references, with one being a peer-reviewed Marketing journal reference used to anchor the presentation explaining the selected. In-text citations are not appropriate for this assignment, but your reference page must be APA 7th format. The academic journal reference must address/examine/explain the main concept of Personalization to frame the presentation. Other references must be commercial or business press. See Course Tools > Reference List. No blogs, textbooks, WIKI, ASK, company home pages/websites, tutorials or dictionary type references. 

 

· Be sure to include a copy of the print ad or a link to the TV commercial.
