Finance in Education
The purpose of this assignment is to identify scholarly evidence or support you can use in your own paper and to develop research skills that allow for the evaluation of relevance, accuracy, and quality of the source materials.
Based on this week’s readings and your own experience as an educator, identify a problem of practice related to one financial issue in education.
“Inadequate funding for schools in low-income communities leads to unequal access to qualified teachers, updated instructional materials, and academic support services.” Your problem of practice should be related specifically to K-12. Find five scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles from the past five years and create an annotated bibliography analyzing each article you find.
Start with a brief paragraph describing the problem of practice you have chosen and reasons why this topic is important to you. Then, present summaries of your articles in an annotated bibliography format.
Be sure to include the following in each article summary:
• The purpose of the study
• Methodology used in the study
• Findings of the study
• Implications for practice of the findings
• Your evaluation of whether the authors fully addressed the study’s purpose
Submission Instructions:
• The annotated bibliography is to be clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, and misspelling.
- Format your paper using APA Guidelines. Do not use direct quotes – paraphrase and cite accordingly.
• The annotated bibliography should be formatted per current APA and each article should be 50-80 words.
• Incorporate a minimum of five current (published within the last five years) scholarly journal articles or primary legal sources (statutes, court opinions) within your work. Do not use direct quotes – paraphrase and cite accordingly.
• This assignment will be assessed through Turnitin.
