Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapter 1 and Chapter 4 from Delivering Health Care in America: A Systems Approach and Chapter 3 from Turnock’s Public Health: What It Is and How It Works, and the recommended resources for this week.

The system for health care delivery in the United States is massive, complex, and expensive. Is there a better way to “do” health care in the U.S.? How does the U.S. health care system compare to health care systems in other countries? This assignment is in 2 parts.

  • The second part of the assignment is to write one to two paragraphs following the table regarding the interface of public health in the health care system and suggest an idea of how to use public health in the U.S. to improve the health care system.

In your paper,

  • Compare the U.S. health care system to health care systems of two other countries of your choosing.
  • Analyze the differences in health care systems by identifying the services provided, the source of funding for health care in that country, and comments about challenges related to the care and/or funding of health care in that country.
