Topic: Professional Platform for Ethics and Leadership
Write a 1500-2000 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least three (3) sources in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count toward the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.
Identify an example of ethical dilemma in nursing. The example can be a professional example (experienced in the workplace or community) or an example that you have read about. An example of an ethical dilemma can be located by reviewing local, state, and national articles, reports, or news reporting.
Answer the following components in your paper. Provide a brief summary of the ethical dilemma. Discuss three ethical principles that align with the selected dilemma. The principles can be demonstrated as a success (met all the ethical principal criteria) or an area of opportunity (areas of growth identified). The discussion of each ethical principle should:
- include the definition of the principle,
- how the principle was demonstrated (success or area of opportunity) within the selected dilemma.
- Include examples of ethical principles: autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, confidentiality, veracity, and accountability.
- Discuss the role of nursing and organizational ethics in the workplace.
- Analyze personal morals and values and how they impact nursing practice and leadership. Provide an introduction and conclusion paragraph.
