Week 8 Discussion: Continue Your DiscussionData Collection and Analysis
You are now ready to move forward in the process of designing your research study. In this week’s webinar and assignment, you will focus on data collection, analysis and techniques, and ensuring racial equity in the process. For this discussion, you will explore data collection methods. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
- Share an article, video, or other media outside of the courseroom that has helped you better understand how you might develop your data collection methods to ensure racial equity. What instruments, measure, or tools were presented? What are two key take-aways from what you shared?
- Using a racial-equity lens, consider the idea of using secondary data to inform your study. What source(s) might be useful? What specific information might you use from the source(s)?
- Share a research article and how, if you were to be a part of the research team, you would try to address power dynamics in the data analysis process. How did the researchers of the article address power dynamics?
